A.N.G.E.L.O. VINTAGE PALACE AT
Substance against appearance. Slow against fast. Originality against uniformity. With these requirements, the first edition of New Vintage, the event dedicated to the vintage style, goes on stage at Forte dei Marmi, from the 1st to the 5th of May.
A fair invented for the polished Versilia audience, original excursus in the fashion, in the bijoux and in the accessories world, that evokes the sweet taste of nostalgia, titillates the memory, light up the will of creative shopping. On stage (and for sale) the best of the vintage collection of Italy and farther.
Among the exhibitors, some of the most known name of the italian and international vintage world, among which A.N.G.E.L.O. which, for the occasion, will bring to Forte dei Marmi, some of the precious pieces of its Vintage Palace of Lugo.
NEW VINTAGE will be on open air, into the italian garden style of Dante Square and the close Solferino Street. Here, 25 white gazebos will offer a sconfinate mosaic of proposals: italian tailored garments, collection of historical glasses and hats, scarves and shoes, high quality accessories, clutches and bags, jackets and capes, sofisticated suits and elegant evening dresses, Seventies casual garments and workwear, military garments, rare furs, fashion books, toys…
It isn't only a market and no a cold commercial Gallery but a third street of shopping: a place for prolific mind and creative sensibilities, place for who knows and can recognise the numerous lives of a garment or a accessory. An experience of style at accessible prices, ethically correct because it is inspired to the re-use philosophy, to the freedom of choose, to a craftsmanship which doesn't create but "saves" proposing again the best of our latest past.
These are concepts perfectly in line with the understated exclusivity of Forte dei Marmi, a symbol of contemporary luxury that doesn't forget the strong points of its roots: simplicity, pleasure freedom and fashion as fun and games. So, just like in a game, in a nostalgic journey through the tastes and trends, NEW VINTAGE bring us back the excellence of our recent past.

After the success of the Austrian stop, the Vintage Fashion Tour where the world of Vintage, of whom A.N.G.E.L.O. is one of the most illustrious representatives, will be hosted at the McArthur Glen Designer Outlets all around Europe, it will start agian the 9th of May from Berlin. The Tour will take around Europe a rich selection of pieces of clothing and accessories, among whom you can discover cult objects and rarities from the late '40s to late '80s. An exhibition dedicated to the charme of "unique" pieces, that were part of "our" history and a unique opportunity to take home an original Chanel, Hermés, Fendi, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Christian Dior and many others.
The tour will be accompanied one more time by the exhibition "Around the World in 80 scarves", a visual path through the popular touristic places all linked to a precise historical moment full of profound changes. After the Second World War and the Depression an enthusiasm for discovery turns the scarf into a souvenir of possible holidays. No longer only postcards to put away in drawers, or photos of smiles in front of historic or natural monuments, but a personal choice, a testimony and a souvenirs of the trip: a small square of colored silk, capable to arouse emotions with a private language that belongs to different latitudes. In the exhibition, there will be displayed a rich collection of original scarves, authentic pieces of the '40s, '50s and '60s, from the countries all around the world all belonging to the A.N.G.E.L.O. Fashion Archive.
ANGELO X A.N.G.E.L.O.
Fabbrica Vintage arrives at its fifth edition in the picturesque setting of the Factory, the former cement works recovered by Angelo Grassi and transformed into a multi-purpose center. Here will be present Angelo Grassi himself with his pieces of furniture made of recycled materials.
A.N.G.E.L.O., promoter of the event with Angelo Grassi, will be present with a sale space with a selection of the preciousest pieces from its Vintage Palace: only researched, original and high quality vintage in the perspective of "responsible recycling".
Vintage not only as a choice of style, but also as a safeguard of the environment. Giving a second life to clothes, putting them back to life, to make them keep living in different environments with new potentials: these are the purposes of Fabbrica Vintage, A.N.G.E.L.O.’s and the simultaneous Mostrascambio Fair of Gambettola.
VINTAGE. L'IRRESISTIBILE FASCINO DEL VISSUTO
A.N.G.E.L.O. TEMPORARY STORE (inside the Museum)
An original trip into the history and evolution of the most contemporary trend in fashion and, in the same time, a homage to the evocative power of the fashion style of yesterday.
The exhibition “Vintage. L'irresistibile fascino del vissuto” organized by the Museum of Fabric of Prato Foundation (Chamber of Commerce of Prato, Commune of Prato, Provincial Administration of Prato) in cooperation with the Bank of Prato, SAPERI srl and Popular Bank of Vicenza together with the Vice Presidency of ACTE Italia (Association of European Textile ) and dedicated to Fashion Vintage, will open on the 7th December 2012 at 6.30 pm.
The initiative was developed in collaboration with A.N.G.E.L.O. Vintage Archive, one of the most significant and researched italian vintage archive and due to openness of prestigious Fashion Houses such as Gucci, Salvatore Ferragamo, Pucci and Max Mara e of Osti's Archive.
The exhibition intends to tell, for the first time, how the practice of used clothing, deep-rooted in the history of Clothing and Fabrics, was able to inflate the concepts of lived and second hand clothing with an irresistible charm creating a real costume phenomenon and to retrace the origins, developments and reasons that let vintage to become a nearly essential element in the contemporary design of Fashion and Fabric.
Through a thematic pattern supported by accurate chronological references, articulated in four different sections with more than 100 garments and fabrics displayed, the exhibition takes up part of the suggestive location of the Historical Rooom and the wide rooms of the Museum's first floor, with 800 mq of exhibition space in total.
In occasion of the opening the catalogue “Vintage. L'irresistibile fascino del vissuto” realized by the Museo del Tessuto in collaboration with Silvana Editoriale Publishing, will be available.
